FAT Lucidity?  Really? (aka – FAT Luci)

OK, I’ll admit my attempt at humor may be lacking, but why be lost in the mire of names such as “The Finance Blog”, “A Blog by the Numbers”, or “Accounting Rocks!”.  Let’s face it, the world of finance and accounting isn’t that sexy at all, so any attempt at livening it up HAS to be for the greater good!  With that said, here’s the breakdown;

“F” = Finance - Topics include the latest issues that may be happening in world of Stocks, Debt, Budgeting Issues, Personal Finance Issues or pretty much anything else that may come under the Finance umbrella

“A” = Accounting - Topics related to “rules and regulations” as applied to GAAP, IFRS, and any techniques and methods used to properly report and organize data used for decision making

“T” = Technology - While this term applies to many topics, this blog will focus on issues and topics related to technology solutions used by CPA, Accountants, and other Finance professionals.

“Lucidity” = Defined as “Easily Understood, Intelligible, Mentally Sound, Rationale”.

A little more about me, I’m a CPA and am the VP of Finance & Controller at Bariatric Partners, Inc. I have been there since September of 2007 after having spent four years in my own consulting practice, Gaston D. Wilson, CPA, PA, offering various financial consulting services. My primary focus was to small and medium size companies seeking financial and/or accounting assistance during times of growth or transition.

I live in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, NC with my wife, Kelly. I am the father of a very handsome, energetic and bright 13 year old son Trey, who lives in Wilmington, NC.  I have been in the Charlotte area since 1992 after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Prior to my college career, I proudly served a tour of duty in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard from 1984 – 1992 (Active from ‘84 – ‘86). I have claimed North Carolina as my “home state” since 1982. This claim was preceded by an approximate three year residency in Meadow Bridge, West Virginia (1980′ish – 82).
